Eddie Owen

Eddie Owen serves as Director of Bands at Liberty High School where he co teaches Marching Band, conducts the Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Clarinet Choir and also assists with middle school band at both Discovery and Liberty Middle Schools. 

 

Mr. Owen holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Missouri Western State College (now Missouri Western State University) and a Master of Music Education from the Conservatory at the University of Missouri – Kansas City.  Mr. Owen began his teaching career at Excelsior Springs Middle School and High School and has also served at Oak Park High School and Staley High School.

Brittany True 

Brittany True serves as Associate Band Director at Liberty High School where she co teaches Marching Band, conducts the Concert Band, Brass Choir and several brass ensembles.  She also assists at both Discovery and Liberty Middle School. 
 

Mrs. True holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Northwest Missouri State University and a Master of Music Education from the Conservatory at the University of Missouri - Kansas City.  Mrs. True began her teaching career in 2014 in the Smithville School District as Assistant Band Director.

Mark Fangmann serves as Director of Bands at Liberty Middle School where he teaches Concert Band, Cadet Band, Beginning Band and Jazz Band.

Theresa Brier 

Theresa Brier serves as Director of Bands at Discovery Middle School where she teaches the Concert, Cadet, Beginning and Jazz bands.  She will be assisting the Liberty High School bands as a woodwind instructor.  
 

Mrs. Brier holds a Bachelor of Music degree from The University of Iowa.  She began her teaching career in 2002 as an Assistant High School band director at two large high schools in Iowa. Mrs. Brier then spent several years home with her four children while also teaching private clarinet lessons, adjudicating events, and substitute teaching for area band directors.  She is thrilled to be teaching instrumental music full time for Liberty Public Schools.
